Roofing is practical work and we treat it that way. We do not dress up straightforward jobs with jargon, and we do not quote for work that does not need doing. A lot of roofing problems in this area come down to ageing felt underlay, slipped or cracked clay and concrete tiles, or lead flashings that have worked loose around chimney stacks and dormers. We identify the cause before we suggest a remedy, because patching a symptom rarely solves the underlying problem.

Before any work starts, we take time to inspect the roof properly - from the outside and, where access allows, from the loft space. Damp patches on a ceiling can come from a cracked tile directly above, but they can just as easily come from a failed valley, a lifted ridge tile, or condensation. Knowing which it is saves time and money. We explain what we have found, what the options are, and what each option costs, before we touch anything.

We use materials suited to each job rather than whatever is cheapest to source. For pitched roofs that means matching existing tile profiles and colours as closely as possible - important on older Norfolk properties where red clay pantiles are common. For flat roofs we use modern EPDM rubber membranes or quality torch-on felt systems, both of which have established long-term track records. Tidying up and leaving the site as we found it is a basic part of the job, not an afterthought.
